I do not think there would be any connection - my McCutcheon's did not come to Canada until the late 1880's and they came out of Northern Ireland. As far as I know there were only the 2 brothers who came and a few years later, their mother as well. My GGFather brought his mother over in 1894 and she died here in 1899. His brother headed "west" and disappeared and that left only my GGFather on his own with his family. I really have no information about these McCutcheon's other than what I have managed to find on my GGFather and that is mainly Canadian records - 1891 Census and after that. Anything before that, including their origins in N. Ireland, is shrouded in mystery - all we know is that he is supposed to have come out of County Tyrone somewhere. I have 3 birth dates for my GGF but none of them have turned up a registration in Belfast or Dublin and neither has a marriage registration showed up for the "supposed" names of is parents. Every time I think I have found a new lead to discovering their origins...... it just ends up another dead-end.
