I have some information from my uncle that gives Elizabeth Bailey as the 1st wife of Matthew McCurry and the mother of 3 children including John B. McCurry b. 1838. Matthew was married 2nd to Jane S. Smith who is buried in the Lebo Creek Cemetery in Lincoln Twp., Coffee Cty, Kansas. According to his information Matthew and Jane had 8 children - Elizabeth, William F., Lucinda E., Frances T., Marion C., George S., Caroline, and Margaret. The first 4 children of Matthew and Jane were born in TN and the last 4 were born in MO. The fact that Matthew was married twice is is a matter of deduction as he found two marriage records for Matthew McCurry in Greene County, TN and believed that they were for the same Matthew who was married twice - first to Elizabeth Bailey and second to Jane S.
