Paul - in this instance the Cuppage name was inherited from the grandfather - Cuppage McCurdy who was alive in 1803 at the time of the 1803 Census for the Parish of Ballintoy undertaken by Rev Robert Traill,
Cuppage were the landowners at that time for this immediate area. As far as we know there is no known connection - other than through the William McCurdy Surgeon whose wife was Elizabeth Cuppage (from near Ballymoney, and later Rambledon, Hampshire) - and the details of which we have previusly exchanged.
