Harriet McCurdy and John Williamson - before 1820
Does anyone have a Harriet, Harriett, or Hattie listed in their McCurdy lines born sometime between 1780 and 1805 in South Carolina?
I know there were multiple McCurdy families in SC in that time period, but I have not seen the name Harriet turn up.
I'm looking for a Harriet McCurdy, she married John Williamson
I only know of 1 child at this time.
John McCurdy Williamson b. 14 Feb 1819 in Richmond County, GA
Alternately, John M reported his birthstate as TN on census records. He enlisted in the Mexican War at Nashville, so was living in the area at that time.
Always he reported his parents as father born in Ireland, mother born in South Carolina.
Birth year for Harriet could be as late as 1805 if she had John M at the tender age of 14, not uncommon back then, to perhaps as early as 1780...
John Williamson and Harriet McCurdy are the names listed in an old family bible found among the belongings of John M's grand-daughter.
TIA,
Jim Williamson
