Origin of Kansas McCulloughs

My grandmother was Mary Florence McCullough of Rosedale Ks. she was born 4-4-1892. She had a twin, Minnie Frances. They had siblings; Susie, Grace, William, Catherine, Anna, Edgar. It looks like my greatgrandmother died in childbirth with the 9th child in 1901. My great grandparanets were Arthur Edgar McCullough and Sarah Ann Holsinger. I think my ggfather had some sort of a farm in Lyon Co, Kansas.
My ggfather, Arthur's siblings were Clara, Minnie May, Frances Della, Francis Melvin, William Carol. His parents were Hugh Bunton McCullough and Elizebeth Ann Brazelton. Both of them were born in Indiana. Hugh came from a huge family with 13 siblings and it appears most of them may have been born in the Kentucky "territory". I won't bother with all the names here, but if someone needs them to show a link, I'll gladly give them to you. My ultiamte goal is to try and find out where they origianlly immigrated from. I've managed to get as far back as 1680 to a Samuel McCullough in Rowan Co. NC. But I hit a brick wall there and can't get any further. I'm also trying to either prove or disprove the rumor that my mother perpetrated that there was some American Indian in the McCulloughs somewhere's. I've not seen any evidence of this; and if my mom was only repeating something my grandmother had said; well, lets just say granny could be a bit of a fabricator from what I can remember! I'd like to find any relatives living in the Kansas area that can tell me anything about the family; especially any children or grandchildren of my grandmothers siblings. I only met her twin Minnie once or twice; she came to visit us in Md. But I remember her quite well as a very warm and loving person.
If you think you are linked with my family, please write. I'd love to hear from you.
