I have been researching my family under the name of John McCullough/McCollough from Ireland.
I just recently saw where some of his children were listed in the 1836 Petition for John McCulloch's estate according to a reference made from McCullough Clan Newsletter, Year 16. I have learned that you can not get that newslwetter anymore and can not get Betty, the woman who had it.
So, I am seeing now where I should be searching under the name of McCulloch as well. Some of the children mentioned in that petition of his estate are Canada McCullough, Patty McCullough, Joseph, Nellie Eleanor, Mary, Nancy and William McCullough/McCollough.
So, I am not clear as to whether John McCulloch was their father and his name was just spelled different, or if perhaps an uncle or someone and the people listed above were mentioned because of being blood relatives.
Now their father John McCullough was born approx. 1755 in Ireland and died in 1835 in Green Co., PA. So the petition for the esate would come close to the time of his death.
Would anyone know how I could look at a copy of that particular newsletter somewhere online, or if someone has a copy, if the could fax a copy of it. I am just trying to determine of John McCulloch and John McCullough are one in the same.
If anyone knows anything about this John McCulloch, could you please email me. I am really hoping to find out more..
