Hi Michelle!
My decendant McCues also came to Lanarkshire through the female line. My great grandmother Esther Eliza McCue married James Hassan and lived in Craigneuk in Wishaw from abt 1904, children were all born in Craigneuk, William (my grandfather), James, Edward and Susan. She was born in Dundee in 1887, siblings were Susan, Helen and Francis - parents were Edward McCue born Edinburgh abt 1850 and Margaret Porri born Birmingham abt 1856. Edward's parents were Peter McCue and Susan Daly - Susan was definately born in Ireland, but I'm not sure where Peter was born, his parents were Christopher McCue and Anne Dunn. Edward had one brother Bernard born 1864. He was a bootmaker and also used the spelling McHugh.
