Hello, I have been looking through my records and I'm not sure if this is who your cousin's daughter is looking for but maybe you can check with her to see if we are on track. Also, I want to mention that this surname is plagued with many variations. I use McKibben, McCubbin, & McKibbon (and others) interchangably. I feel certain that some of us McKibbens started as McCubbins but the records were written phoneticaly with a heavy Scot Irish accent at work. I've even found records under McKaben. With that being said, take note of the following: Agnes Wiley m. Alexander McKibbon 1 June 1796 in Mecklenburg Co, NC. I have Agnes Wiley's parents as John Wiley m. Elizabeth McKibbon. There is some conjecture between researchers for the father of Alexander McKibbon. Some say that he is the son of John McKibben who d. 1799 in Mecklenburg Co, NC. Others say that Alexander is the son of Autrey McKibben. I'm currently researching this line but need more sources to do so. If your cousin's daughter thinks that this is the correct connection, let me know and I'll send the limited sources that I have on Alexander. Sincerely, Clark Willingham Buchanan, GA Notify Administrator about this message?
