McCroskey-Aven-Duff Connections
Looking for Aven-Duff-McCroskey Connections in Va, NC, and/or TN
John Duff Aven, born in Virginia, ended up in Christian County, Missouri, as a neighbor of Mathew Duff McCroskey and his brothers, James Madison McCroskey and William Barton McCroskey.I suspect John's descision to come to this part of Missouri was based on the fact that the McCroskey's were kin.To date, I have not been able to make the connection.Any assistance would be appreciated.

Note: James McCroskey had a wife named Ann who was the daughter of John and Margaret Brown Duff. Will Book 9 Page 310 on the partial settlement of John's estate because he died intestate. Has Matthew B. Duff [John's son] in some land shuffling with the heirs, nine children, " a deed from James McCroskee and Ann, his wife who was also a child of said John Duff and the said two ninths of said land are the premises herein and hereby conveyed". Aronhime Papers have James with a wife Ann.
