Trying to establish the parents of this Ann(a) McCrory - any/all help would be appreciated. She married Alexander Alexander about 1774 in Spartanburg Co, SC where they remained until their deaths, Anney in 1796 and Alexander in 1806. They were the parents of the following children: John, Robert, William, Alexander Jr., Nancy and James.
From: Spartanburg County Deed Abstracts Books A-T 1785-1827, Albert Bruce Pruitt, Easley, SC page 11 " May 7, 1785 Alexander Alexander and Ann McCorry, his wife....sold 100 acres granted Oct. 15, 1784 Gov. Benjamin Guerard to Ann McCoory."
same book - pg 200 " Thomas McCroy to Alexander Alexander..."
same book - page 95 "will of John McCrory of Jamie's creek in the state of So Carolina and County of Spartanburgh...unto my daughter Margaret Earnest, one English shilling; to my daughter Ann Alexander, one English shilling. to my daughter Agness Doeg, one English shilling; to my beloved wife Martha the remainder of my estate, out of which she must take care to keep and provid my son John in clothes and Victuals...wife Martha executrix. dated in Spartanburgh 12th April 1787. Proved second Monday in April 1791 (from court minutes).
I believe this to be Anna's father - who was her mother?
Secondly, page 96 "Will of Thomas McCrorey of Spartanburgh...to Jeney, my dearly beloved wife, all that plantation whereon I now live, and all until my children come of age or during her widowhood...my three youngest children, to my son Adam, one third; to my son William, one third: to my daughter Marget, one third: wife Jeney & Robert Rogers and Alex Alexander, exrs. 7 Apr 1797." to my son Robert, one shilling; to my son Thomas, one shilling; to my daughter Anney Hawthorn, one shilling. Wit: Robert Alexander was named here -
Is this Thomas the son of the above John and if so, then a brother to Ann?
And lastly, from Abstracts of Old Ninety Six and Abbeville District, Young, Pauline, Easley, SC 1977
