My lonely James McCrory, b 1820 computed from 1850 Census Stoddard Co., Mo.entered land on the same day in 1853 as John McCrory and William McCrory. They entered for land in Dunklin Co.,MO, which is just next to Stoddard and New Madrid Counties, New Madrid is where Mary Ann Bozarth, the wife of James McCrory had been living with her family.By 1860, the Bozarths were living in Randolph Co. Arkasas, which is also almost touching the above mentioned counties. Two of the McCrorys are living in Dunklin, but this is the last time I find them.Mary Ann Bozarth McCrory is living in Miller Co., MO with her three orphaned children, William Robert, John M. and Mary Jane McCrory. After 1860, I lose track of all the McCrorys in southeast Missouri.I have a strong feeling, hunch, whatever, that they were brothers. There ages and their naming practices seem to lean in that direction. This part of Missouri was pretty much swamp land, and wasn't drained until the early 1900's.I understand that area was emptied out considerably during the Civil War.
