I gotta put my two cents in on William the son of Robert of Fairfield Co (1762-1842). In William's deposition concerning his father's Rev War pension he stated he was Robert's eldest son and that he would be aged 49 December next. It was signed 11 June 1833 meaning he was born about 1784, not 1800. I think the William you are interested in was the son of another Robert and that branch can be traced to Union District, SC.
