McCreight DNA Project

Looking for male McCreights/McCrights/ McRights/ McWrights or other alternate spellings to do DNA test. We currently have a small project, but early results seem to indicate that David McCreight’s line is not related to other early McCreight lines. We have test results for two descendants of David McCreight born 1709 that match each other.

We have a test result for Mathew McRight born 1762 which does not match David, but does match a sample from a James McCright born 1804 in Pennsylvania. No common ancestor known for the two and it would likely be an ancestor in Ireland before they arrived in America.

We also have a sample for a descendant of Quinton McCreight who does not yet have a match. We are very much interested in finding more possible descendants of Quinton to test and try to find a matching sample. Link to the McCreight DNA project:

Those of you who do not know how you fit into the McCreight family should at least be able to determine which line you should be researching. Those of you without definite proof may be able to prove your relationship with the DNA test. We also have an extensive database of McCreight families and records relating to the McCreights. Please consider testing. The more results we have, the more we will learn.
