Hi Charlene, I'm not sure about the Robert you mentionned in 1760. I have seen an electoral list dated 1861 with the name Robert McCready, my ancestor. His sons Edward (or Edouard) and Albert stayed in Canada and died around 1900. But some of Robert's children left for the U.S. and we loose track of them there. Their arrival in the U.S. probably happened in latter part of the 1800's. "Our" Robert was nicknamed "The Scot" even though my research on the internet tend to confirm the Irish origin of the name. It is a known fact that many McCready's went through Scotland on their way to America. The following towns are clues in my research : Cavan, Ireland and Portadown, Northern Ireland. I have an aunt who lives in Rochester, NY but her maried name is Paquette. That's about all I know. Thanks for the tips.
