Looking for ancestry of JAMES McCREADY b New York abt 1853. Believe JAMES to be son of JAMES McCREADY (b March 1828, Ireland, emigrated to US with parents in 1839 & living with parents & siblings in Lisbon, St Lawrence, New York in 1850 Census); & wife ANNA M. (b April 1824, also in Ireland, & emigrated to US in 1835). JAMES & ANNA also had a son DAVID b New York in 1856. In 1880 Census JAMES, ANNA M. & son DAVID were living in Limestone, Lincoln, Minnesota. JAMES McCready Jr (b abt 1853 in New York) married SARAH BJORNSDOTTER (BYORG) aka BENSON, b Dec 1871 in Iceland. SARAH emigrated to US in 1880. In 1900 Census JAMES & ANNA M. are living in Marshall, Lyon, Minnesota, as is SARAH (BJORNSDOTTER) McCREADY. Believe JAMES McCREADY Jr. deceased before 1900, probably in Marshall, Lyon, Minnesota - Family History says JAMES "was killed by a runaway horse". SARAH had ch: by JAMES McCREADY Jr: MABEL b May 1887 in Minn (prob Marshall, Lyon); BERTHA b Feb 1890 in Marshall, Lyon, Minn; and JAMES b Sept 1892 in Minn (prob Marshall, Lyon). SARAH later married a Mr ADLER. Believe JAMES McCREADY (b 1828 in Ireland) to be son of DAVID McCREADY b 1804 in Ireland (per 1850 Census for Lisbon, St Lawrence, New York) & his wife ISABELLA (b 1806, Ireland). Other ch: were: JOHN b Ireland 1831; MARGARET b Ireland 1833; ROBERT b Ireland 1836; DAVID b Ireland 1840; JANE b New York (Lisbon, St Lawrence?) 1842; and THOMAS b 1845, also in New York. Does anyone out there know anything more about this family, please? Can you help me tie DAVID McCREADY into his line in Ireland?? Thanks for all help & advice -
