I think I can help you. Ethel Mae McCready was the daughter of James Alphaus McCready and Harriett Neal Alphapus was b. about 1851 and died 01 Dec. 1898, Harriet was b. 23 Oct. 1859 and died in 1937. They are buried at the Lewis Family Cemetery at Lewis Wharf Landing. Mr. Frank Horseman is living down there and his son owns the land on which the cemetery rests. My mother Drusilla McCready Wroten was the niece of Ethel Mae.Her mother was Eva. Ethel also had another sister named Ada who died in 1919. I never knew her, but as a child, I spent summers on the Hurley farm in East New Market. I believe Ethel had 8 children. I knew James, Vernon, Leon, Jessie and Granville.Vernon died of multiple schlerosis in 1959 and is buried with his parents at East New Market Cemetery.I also happened to find a death abstract regarding regarding C.C. Hurley who died at the home of his son W.W. Hurley in Salem.I am researching the McCready line and have not been too successful after James Alphaus. The McCready family originated at Elliotts Island and there was a Andrew McCrady there in the 1700s. I have not been able to make a connection yet. The Cambridge Library has cemetery records, land abstracts and censeus information. Maybe that would help you. Perhaps your husband and I are cousins in some distant way. Hope this has helped.
