Joyce,
Thanks for the reply. However, my records do not match yours.Maybe we can iron out the differences.
I have Hugh's children:
1. William1790-1800 d. 5 Feb 1841 md. Mary Cochran
2. Margaret 1794- 1886 md. James Miskimmens; buried Plum Creek
3. Elizabeth - no dates; not married in 1833
4. JOHN (not James)- b. 1795 - 31 Aug 1858 md. to Nancy Milligan, dau of William.
This is my line through son Joseph md.
to Nancy Davidson Kuhn.
According to the will of Hugh - he didn't have a daughter who was the widow NICHOLS - that woman is clearly named as a neighbor on a bordering piece of property - not a daughter. This misinformation was printed in a family hisptory book and has been passed around without anyone going back to read the will!
One of Hugh's daughters was married to a Milligan = based on the naming of grandson Hugh Milligan in Hugh McCready's will.I believe that this was daughter Margaret's first marriage.
My proof's are deeds and wills as well as headstones. What was the source for your information about Mary Nichols?
Thanks you also for contact info ion the McCready's I'll follow up on that.
Have you seen info that says that Hugh's wife, Jean, was a Lowrie?Several descendants had that information but I cannot confirm it.Hugh and Jean are buried in the Old Laird's cemetery - about two miles west of the Plum Creek Cemetery.
Suzy
