Hi Michelle. Wow! Thank you for your great response. I am delighted to meet another relative! It was quite a while since I posted in Sept 2006 so had to go back to see what I said. (as below:)

I am curious about your mention of Susannah Little. That's a wonderful story about the fine linen hankies. It was reported by my Dad's cousin Marj Blair that the Lunney's had a dry good store in Belfast but we have never been able to find information on it. I never thought to look for other places in Ireland for it or under the Little name. Perhaps your Susannah Little got her linen from that store!??

Although you say that she never married, we have that name in our Family Tree. Cousin Penny (nee Balfour) from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada located a marriage certificate that shows Susannah Little (dau of Joseph Little) marrying Hugh Lunney 27 Mar 1851 in Moneyslane Townland, Drumgooland Street, County Down, Ireland.
Susannah Lunney (nee Little) was born abt 1830 and died in Belfast 27 Feb 1909.
Hugh Lunney was born about 1829 (where?) and died 26 May 1889 in Belfast, Co. Antrim, Ireland, UK
Hugh and Susannah had my great grandmother Ellen Lunney who married John Balfour. They immigrated to Toronto Ontario, Canada (she in 1887, he in 1886)
Ellen Lunney was born Mar 14, 1859 in Derry, County Londonderry, Ireland. John Balfour was born 17 Jan 1854 in Galway Co, Ireland.

Also the LDS records a Susan Little and that her father was known as Hugh (??).

Stepen Little said in a March 19, 2006 email to Penny, "
We definitely have a connection. I just looked at the marriage record for Susanna Little and Hugh Lunney, and it shows her father Joseph Little was a pensioner. This is exactly what the marriage record for George Little and Mary Bigham says. George and Mary were married 15 MAR 1851, just twelve days before Susanna and Hugh. George also had a daughter Susanna who was born about 1863. She emigrated to Boston in 1893 with her brother James. They went to join their other brother and sister Thomas and Anna. A brother Joseph who was in the Royal Irish Constabulary moved to England later on, don't know what happened to him."

Do you know of this Little family in Boston?

I will pass this link along to the 3 other researchers who have again recently banded together to solve another mystery of a possible Lunney connection. Perhaps these names are familiar to you:
We are trying to determine how the Henderson and Maultsaid families fit into the Hugh Lunney and Suasanna Little family tree.

Please feel free to contact me by email at dougeastmanATshaw.ca (change the AT to @) to prevent spammer harvesting of emails. Thx. Doug

I posted in Sept 2006:

Looking for additional information and possible descendants of the following from the 1911 Census in Belfast, N. Ireland:
1911 census entry for 10 Fairview Street

Emily McCrea, wife, C of I, 40 yrs, housewife, married, born Co Antrim.
Maisie, daughter, 17 yrs, pianist, single, born Cheshire England
David, son, 15 yrs, message boy, single, born Cheshire England
Hugh, son, 13 yrs, message boy, single, born Belfast
Samuel, son, 11 yrs, school boy, single, born Belfast
Norman, son, 9 yrs, school boy, single, born Belfast

Anna, daughter, 5 yrs, cannot read, scholar, born Belfast
Thomas, son, 4 yrs, cannot read, born Belfast
John, son, 1 yr, cannot read, born Belfast
Norah, daughter, 1 month, born Belfast

The above Emily McCrea's maiden name was Lunney (the family name may also be spelled Lunny sometimes.
She was the dau. of Hugh and Susanna (Little) Lunney.
Did David McRea and Emily Lunney marry in Cheshire, England where their first two children were born?

The David McCrea family appears to have resided in at least two homes in Belfast in 1911:
David McCrea, hairdresser, 6 Fedora Tce, (1911 street dir.) - next to Emily's siblings John and Mary Ann Lunney!!
David McCrea, hairdresser, 10 Fairview Street (1911 census)

Seeking contacts with relatives and vitals on David and Emily's ancestors, siblings and descendants.

Thank you

Thanks to Eric Beatty for uncovering the McCrea family and information. :-)
