Hello Meg, I am sorry to say, although I do have quite a few James McCray in my file, I do not have your James Baker McCray listed. This may not mean anything, for he would be at most, a side-branch, so I may just not have his information yet and there are some striking similarities. I did discover, just recently, a McCray Cemetery, located in Concord Twp, Erie Co, PA, there are a lot of McCrays and their relatives listed there and it might be worth a look at. If you would like, I will e-mail the address to you. Also these two books which may be of help/interest to you: Check out book: The McCray's Of America, 2nd edition by: Philip Roger McCray 1993. [It might still be available from Heritage Books, Inc. 1540 E. Pointer Ridge Place, Bowie, Maryland. 20716.] "Families of America: History and Genealogies of the Jewett, McCray and Moore Families.' [This one contains the same as above along with the two other family named.] I would also suggest you try and locate your branch through James' middle name, for it sounds as if a family name, which was quite common to do back then. And do not neglect maiden names, although these are usually much harder to trace, sometimes they will hold many good clues. If I ever do run across any information I feel might be helpful to you, I will be sure to let you know. Sorry I could not be of more help. I do wish you the best of luck with your search, take care, Sandy Notify Administrator about this message?
