Samuel McCray had a daughter Margaret b. befor 1800,in Greenbrier Va. m. James Elliott Jan. 09, 1821 (or Dec. 14, 1820 and recorded in Jan.)That is all I have on Margaret.
Your Margaret b. 1776 dose not fit. Samuel and Jane were m. Dec. 23, 1793 and Jane was b. 1762 and Samuel was born in 1772. Samuel would have been 4 and Jane 14.
This is all vary hard to..., there were alot of Samuel's, Jame's, Jane's, Margaret's and....
The book McCarys of America has a Joseph McCray b. ?, d. 1785, Rockbridge Co. Va. may have m. Jane/Jean Ammstrong of Augusta Co. This would have been prior to 1778. when Rockbridge was taken out of Augusta. Joseph is known to have had a son and two daughters, names unknown.Joseph died in 1785, and his will was recorded in Rockbridge Co. between May and June 1785.

Did Jane Marry Joseph McCray at the age of 16 and have 3 kids, maybe Margaret, and married Samuel 8 years after Joseph's death? Jane was 10 years older thin Samuel.I DON'T KNOW. But Jane probably had an older sister or cousin named Jean.
