Pinkston R. McCray (MO and TX)
Posted by: Ann Hill (ID *****8520) Date: July 31, 2002 at 08:18:17
  of 919

Pinkston's death certificate reports: date of birth April 17, 1842 (this is 14 yrs older than the Pinkston found on 1860 census with Elijah McCray in Bollinger Co., MO. WAS Elijah this Pinkston's father or grandfather. Was Pinkston as son of Daniel and Louisa Gilbreath McCray as someone reports on Family Tree Maker???

Pinkston died Feb 1935 in Jones Co., TX and is buried in Swan's Chapel Cem along with first wife Belle who died in 1892 and second wife Ellen who died in 1938.

Anyone who has access to a Tenn census index for 1850 look and if there is a Daniel McCray listed. Our library's book for that index has necessary pages missing - lost by wear and tear OR by a thief.... I am not related to McCrays but am doing research for a friend (Jim McCray of Dallas).
