Sherrie, I did a search on the LDS site, it has the 1880 census...I found these people listed in 1880 Smith Co. MS just north of Marion Co. MS, location of Columbia, MS... Their last name was just spelled wrong, nothing unusual, I'm sure it was McCraw, they just left out the small c..I don't know if the C.W. is your Clifford but he has a son named James, son named Dan and a dau. named Ella which could have been mispelled for Elder or more likely Ella was short for Elder...

I would say due to the age of wife Mary E. and son James, they probably married about 1871...I don't have access to other census but you might can get someone to do a lookup for you. They might possibly find this C.W. McCrawin his parents home or near them on the 1870 census, maybe in Smith Co. MS...hope this helps, Kay.
