My husband's grandmother (his father's mother) was a McCraw. They were from the Paris- Bonham, Texas area. Her family moved to the Wildcat Creek area in Coke County, Texas, which is in west Texas. She married Wilson Frank Clawson in Robert Lee, Texas. They had seven children: Wilson Frank Clawson, Jr. (goes by Junior), Betty, Johnny Quanner (my father-in-law), Christine, Mary Jo, Roy,Virginia (she died in infancy). Her name is Lucrettie Odessa McCraw Clawson. She passed away in September, 1982 a couple of days before her 14th great grandchild was born. She was so well respected in the county and city of Robert Lee that on the day of her funeral the whole city shut down, except for the Baker Grocery Store and attended her funeral. She worked with the high school children in Home Economic classes, even the boys attended some of the classes. Grandma was an exceptional seamstress and made some of the most beautiful dresses for the dolls that she made. If any of you have any information on this side of the family this would be greatly appreciated, especially the African-American side. Thank you for your help in this matter. Sincerely, Barbara Clawson Notify Administrator about this message?
