Hugh and Murdock McCraney (McCraine/McCrain) came from Scotland, Isle of Jura, to Cape Fear, NC in 1739 on vessel "Thistle". Their parents Archibald and Ann McLean McCranie stayed in Scotland.

Hugh was born in 1704 and Murdock in 1707.
NC census and baptismal dates match.

Hugh died ca. 1788 in Robeson, NC. He was married to #1
Catherine Bluie #2 Elizabeth Baker.

This Murdock was born 1777 in Cumberland County, NC
and died ca. 1856 in wilkinson County, MS. He was the son of Hugh and Catherine Buie McCraney (changed to McCraine).
