John Mccracken killed by indians in PA in 1757- James McCracken the "boat baby"
I would also like to hear from anyone who has evidence that they are descended from the James McCracken born ~ 1753 at sea on the way to Philadelphia whose family also settled in Cumberland Co. then moved to Huntingdon Co. and then on to Clearfield County all in PA.My Ancestors are:
Father: Ira Grant McCrackenb. 1921 Clearfield Co. 3child
Gfather:Marl Bell McCracken b. 1877 Clearfield Co. 7child
2Gfather: Jeffereson Lynn McC b. 1861 Clearfield Co. 4child
3Gfather: James Thomas McCb. 1808 Clearfield Co. 6child
4Gfather: Thomas McCrackenb. 1781?????6child
5Gfather: James McCrackenb. 1753at sea12child
I would also very much like to hear from anyone who has evidence that they are descended from John McCracken who came to the colonies ~ 1753; settled in Cumberland Co. then moved to Selinsgrove; and then back to Cumberland where he was killed by indians in 1757.
The hypothesis is that James the boat "baby" was John's nephew and that John's brother James?? or Thomas?? and their wives came to the colonies from Ulster together.
What I am really looking for are the names of my 6Gfather and mother, their children; where in Ulster they came from; and any earlier descendants that may be able to be identified.
