I have the following information, but can not remember where I got it. Can anyone help me out? Does anyone have a copy of his will? How about his wife? Anything on his children?
The Captain Virgil McCracken, who lost his life at the Battle of the River Basin, on January 22, 1813, was the son of Cyrus McCracken. His last will, dated in November, 1812, was probated in the Woodford county court, in April, 1813. In it he names his wife," Martha McCracken, and his five children, v1z: Mary (Polly) McCracken, who intermarried, about 1817, with Thomas Jesse, Martha McCracken, Cyrus McCracken, Jr., Virgil McCracken and George McCracken. Cyrus McCracken, Jr., married Catharine Allen, on February 15, 1815, and Martha McCracken married William Littell on January 22, 1816, thus commemorating the death-date of her lamented father, who perished three years before.
