Sally McCracken (b. @1780 - d.<1840 KY) daughter of Cyrus and Elizabeth Palmer McCracken of Fayette Co. KY, married William West of Franklin co. KY on 10/10/1804 in Woodford Co. KY. Per a Franklin Co. Gen'l Index they bought their land from Capt. Virgil McCracken's estate.
The 1810 Franklin Co. Census shows them as 26-45 w/ 2 sond and 2 dtrs <10. (He would have been about 33 years of age.)
The 1820 shows them 26-45 with 3 dtrs <10
The 1830 Census show him 50-60, 1m(10-15),1m(15-20), 2m (20-30), 1f (10-15), 2f (15-20), 1f (20-30) and 6 slaves. (His wife must have passed away)
1840 Census has him 60-70 (no females) 2m (20-30)
1850 Census has Wm. West (72 years b. VA), James West (43 b.KY), Wm. West (34 b.KY) Wm West (12 b.MO), Sarah West (9 b. MO) Virgil West (3 b. MO)
I'm not whether the children belong to James or William but they must have moved to MO and returned to help their father after his wife's death or due to his age.
If anyone can fill in names of the other children and dates or any information it would be wonderful.
