Dorothy McCoy

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Mrs. R. E. McCoy, Sr. a longtime resident of Bossier City, LA, went to meet her savior on Tuesday, September 15, 2009. Mrs. McCoy or "Dot" as her friends and family called her, passed away peacefully at home. Mrs. McCoy was born on June 15, 1931 in Robeline, LA.

Mrs. McCoy was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. Dot had a servant's heart. She enjoyed helping others. Dot served as a Pink Lady at Schumpert with the Bossier Volunteer Guild. She was a Hospice volunteer with Willis-Knighton Greenwood. One of her great interests was working the polls where she could visit with all the locals.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her children and grandchildren and never let an opportunity pass where she could be with them or do things for them. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Preceding her in death are: husband Robert E. McCoy, Sr. first husband, Elbert Duran Hauser, parents, Winford and Mattie Michwich, sisters, Bobbie Dennis and Wilma Eloise Michwich. Surviving Dot is son, Robert D. Hauser, of Bossier City, LA, Mitzi Hauser Vowels, of Shreveport, LA, Sheri H. Kyle and husband Bob, of Shreveport, LA, Debbie H. Smith and husband Brian, of Bossier City, LA, step-sons, Elbert Hauser and Delbert McCoy both of Shreveport, LA, sisters, Lavonne Sell, of Bossier City, LA, Linda Ebarb, of Shreveport, LA, brother, Tommy C. Michwich, of Greenwood, LA, grandchildren: Sean, Lynzie, Juliet, Colton, Logan, Amelia, Leigh Ann, Lacey, Austin, great-grandchildren: Seth and Spencer, special friends, Odell Louviere and Ann Villoman.

Honoring Dot, as pallbearers will be Justin Candler, Joe Arrington, Logan Hauser, Colton Kyle, Hal Fulghum and Bob Kyle.

Services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 1:30p.m at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. James Hoover. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Cemetery in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00p.m.

The family would like to thank Southland Home Health Care, Odyssey Hospice Care and Mon Ami for their loving care. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Bharat Guthikonda and Dr. "V" for their help and compassion while taking care of our mother.

We would also like to thank Mrs. Mary Short, mom's " special helper" during a difficult period.
