I'm researching a John B MCCOY in Baltimore, MD (b: c. 1857 in Maryland). In 1870 he may have been living with his parents in Hancock, Washington County, MD.
According to an Obit in the Baltimore Sun, He died on 17 September 1897 "after a brief illness" His father was John N MCCOY.
His wife was Lily A (maiden name: SCHARF), and they had nine children when he died (John R, Raymond, Lilly M, Robert E., Mary, Jennie Louise, Harry L, Ruth A and Ida(sp?).
