I would like to connect with anyone who is directly related to Henry Lewis McCoy, son of Drayton Bennett McCoy and Edna Elizabeth.
His death certificate states that he was born June 23, 1840 in Attalla, Mississippi and died July 17, 1917 in Daingerfield, Texas. His father was listed as D. B. McCoy born in Georgia and his mother as Ednia Massey born in Georgia. Informant was W. N. Elkins.
Does anyone know anything about the Massey name? I know that a Lizzie Massey was listed as one of the witnesses for the marriage of Julia McCoy (Henry's niece) to Alvin Guthrie in 1905 in Hodges, Tx.
Henry's death certificate is the only one that actually states the parents names. I also have certificates for:
T. G. McCoy (Thomas Gilbert)
E. A. McCoy (Erastus Amziah)
D. C. McCoy (Drayton Columbus)
I am very interested in more details about Edna and her parents and any siblings. If anyone has their ancestors family bibles, please take a look for any overlooked details that might be of help.
Does anyone have more info on who Edna's parents were, siblings? Who the Massey's where? Are they related? Any stories of Native American heritage? Thanks.
