I just found an error in my previous post:

There was only ONE MALE enumerated in Archibald McCoy's household - not six!!!

1840 Federal Census Washington County, Maryland
------ Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland
Archibald of J. McCoy, page 16 0000001 - 00000000

Anyone interested in these data should definitely double check the numbers. It is just too easy to make mistakes when collecting this type of information from census reports!
