Hi William, I just read your message and it is indeed a timely one.I have found forms of McCown (McKeown, McCone, McKown) in Fermanagh.Since Donegal touches Fermanagh at the northwest end as does Tyrone to the east,
I think that your find is of great interest. I will refer your Donegal citation to Dr. William Roulston who is undertaking a study of the Y-DNA and conventional documentation of five men with very strong Maguire/Fermanagh DNA.
You might also find my blog McCown, Scots or Irish http://www.mccownscotsorirish.blogspot.comhttp://www.mccownscotsorirish.blogspot.com of interest.
My line first appears in 1790 somewhere in South Carolina.
