William
Here is something that I came Across eariler That May be of help to you:
BIOGRAPHY: Arrived in Charleston, SC (1773) aboard the ship "Brig Lord Dunaggon", with a wife and 2 children: James & Mary and Settled on little river west of blackstock, South Carolina
Note: Arrived in Charleston, SC, in 1773 from Ireland with children. One of three suspected McKeown relatives (Jackson - 1762, Samuel - 1767, Robert - 1773), who all settled on "Little Creek" in the northern section of Fairfield Co., SC, west of what is now Woodward and Blackstock. See article about Hugh Seed McKeown on pages 340-341 by Thomas Oneal McKeown in "Heritage History of Chester County, South Carolina", 1982.

Several of the early McCown's in my family spelled their names as McKown and McCune. I have seen the name spelled as McEwen but have not been able to make a connection.
James W McCown
