Hi there, i have some info to share with you, as McCown is a name i've been researching for a long time.
Joshua Wilson McCown was born Feb 6, 1804 in Bardstown, Nelson, KY. He married Martha SHAPARD on April 28, 1828, in Columbia, Maury Co., TN. (i have seen other sources that say in Bardstown, so i'm not certain right now which one is correct.)
Joshua Wilson's parents were Alexander McCown, b. Sept 22, 1755 in Colerain, Lancaster, PA, and Susannah Uncel, b. Feb 15, 1766. They were married Dec 13, 1786 in Bardstown, Nelson, KY. Alexander died Sep 28, 1835, in Bardstown, and Susannah died May 2, 1854 in Bardstown.
That should get you started for now, but please email me and i can share with you the rest of the info i have. The McCown family is HUGE, and they all tend to use the same names over and over again, so it can get pretty confusing, if you don't have your dates handy, so be careful, haha.
