Years have passed since we last emailed and I've been busy on the McCowen line.
1.My grandpa Fred b. Whitsett TX 1883 (brothers Ed,Banner,Patrick, Reagan)
2. Ggpa Banner McCowen b. Noble, Wabash Co., Indiana, 1845
3. Brother Mahlon McCowen born same place 1852-1854 (along with brothers Asher b. OH 1840, Allen b. IN 1842, Samuel b. IN 1848)
4. GGgpa Samuel McCowen b. NJ 1817 (m. Lucinda Jones)
5. GGGgpa Banner McCowen b. NJ 1790
That's as far back as I can get. All New Jersey census records of 1790 and previous years were destroyed (war). Have you had any luck? Shannon
