I have quite a bit of info about the Hensley family, mostly based on the work of Alice Henson (Hensleys on the Move, FHL fiche #6088723). Davis and Lydia Hensley, probably originally from Virginia (son John born Virginia 1782), were probably in South Carolina in 1784 (Ninety-Six District), in Kentucky by 1796-98, probably in St. Louis area circa 1803. Willis Hensley is named in a St. Louis Petitioner's List 1810. There was a Willis Hensley who served from Illinois/Missouri in the War of 1812. Willis Hensley is named in 1816 in the administration of Davis Hensley's estate. Willis is in Gasconade MO in 1840, I believe he was there much earlier, circa 1820. I haven't had a lot of luck researching Willis' descendants. My interest: my great great grandfather was VanBuren Hensley, who I believe may somehow be connected to another of Davis Hensley's sons, Francis (not son, perhaps nephew or ??). I have no idea who VB's father was. Do you have any info about Willis and Susannah's children or grandchildren? Thanks. Dee Dee
