Looking for information on William McCormick who is my ggggrandfather. Conflicting data shows him born in either 1765 in Botetourt Co., VA or in 1771-75 in Orange Co., VA. Parents are shown as either George McCormick and Mary Chaplin or John McCormick and Rosanna McNees.
Apparently he was married 1st to Sally McClelland in Fleming Co., KY about 1790 and 2nd to Nancy Wilson about 1811 in Montgomery Co., KY. One son by Nancy Wilson is Joseph Morrison McCormick, my gggrandfather who married Louisiana Allen. They are buried in Coons Cemetery near Mt. Sterling, Montgomery Co., KY. Great-grandmother is Malinda Jane McCormick who married Benjamin Franklin Cox, M. D. They are also buried at Coons Cemetery. Grandfather is George Newton Cox, M. D. who married Carrie Thompson Wood. Mother is Ivatilla Cox who married Virgil Elwood Sullivan. Grandparents and parents are buried at Machpelah Cemetery in Mt. Sterling.
Any information about this McCormick clan would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get the correct information for my records kept in Family Tree Maker.
