McConnell Family of Patton Pa
Posted by: Tom Burris Sr (ID *****5530) Date: September 15, 2009 at 18:54:51
  of 2881

I am a descendant of Thomas and Mary (Margaret Fitzpatrick)
my mother was Alverna Mary McConnell born June 9th 1909.
It is my understanding that my grandfather had a saw mill.
They were from Patton Pa
GG+ Grandparents John A McConnell and Halmah Watts my information says they were born in 1797 in Ireland
son Francis William who married Matilda McMullen,
son Tom John Patrick McConnell.
This is what I can read on a hand written piece of paper, so forgive me for any mistakes.

It also says and this is very clear that General John McConnell was in the Revolutionary War and owne over 17000 acres of land in Patton.
I have a picture of Thomas and Mary.
Just for family pride I would like to point out that Alverna at the age of around 17 or 18 recieved the Carneigy Medal of Honor for her attempt to save an other girls life.
