Hi

I'm William Henry's great grandson. I have details of his immediate known descendants up to c 1962 hanging on my wall. This also includes Elizabeth Winder's ancestors back to 1584.

I believe that William Henry was born in Dublin and that in the distant past the family had emigrated from Scotland. I have two photographs in my possession, one taken when young and one of a distinguished older gentleman. My grandmother (WHMc's daughter in law) used to have a watercolour of a gentleman c 1820-1840 who we understood to be William's dad.

They stayed in Liverpool and had several children (haven't got the family tree in fron of me). My grandfather, Francis John, stayed in the Uk. His elder brother emigrated to the US and I believe one sister went to New Zealand.

I have a family tree which takes the Winder family back to 1584, when my distant ancestor was killed during a border raid by Scottish Reivers. That side of the family stems from Lancashire and were minor landowners.

I've never got further back than WHMc as I've been too busy researching my father's family.

Hope this helps
