McCONNELL, Quillie (b.1895 OK)
Looking for informatoin on Quillie McConnell, who at the age of 22 was one of two persons involved in the killing of Sheriff George Arnold in 1917 of Lincoln Co., OK. Quillie took full responsibility for the shooting.
For his part in the killing, Quillie was first sentenced to electrocution, which was subsequently commuted to life imprisonment. He is found on the 1920 and 1930 OK census in the Oklahoma State Penitentary. He escaped in 1933 but was returned to the prison in 1934. Eventually, he was paroled in 1937. No further record has been found for him.
Would like to communicate with anyone who can shed some light on Quillie. What became of Quillie after his parole? Where did he go? Did he marry? Have children? When/where did he die? Where buried?
