Are there any male McConnells who descend from Guien McConnel and Martha Kelsey who are thinking about having their DNA tested?
Guien and Martha had four sons who had male descendants.......William. b.c. 1779, John, b.c. 1783, Alexander, b. 1787 and James, b. 14 Feb 1791.
My brother (from William's line) and a cousin (from Alexander's line) are a match, which confirms the paper trail done years ago, but not as close a match as was expected. It's been suggested having another cousin from either John or James' line tested.
If you are a male who descends from either John McConnell and Melissa Disbrow or James and Margaret Roorback and are willing to be tested (cheek swab), please contact me.
