The 1851 Brant Twp., Bruce County, Ontario Census shows a George McConnell b abt 1811 in Scotland; his wife Mary b. abt 1815 in Scotland and children David, age 6; John, age 4; Margaret, age 3; and Mary, age 2. The first names seem to match up with my grandfather, John McConnell's family. John, b abt 1845, and his wife Catherine, nee McDonald, b. abt 1853, lived near Ripley, Huron Twp. in Bruce County, Ontario before emigrating to Alpena, Michigan in the mid-1880s.
Does anyone have information on George McConnell family from Brant Township?
