George McConnell 1700s PA
Ran across a lengthy and interesting story about George McConnell who lived on the east side of Tuscarora Creek. He was teh gg-grandfather of Dr. Stewart of Dry Run, PA.The story is about how George carried a heavy cast iron kettle into the frontier and how the Indians used it along with him.Because of his friendly attitude, he and his family were spared when the Indians began terrorizing the neighbors. They would ride past his house and hold up fingers to indicate how many white men they had killed.I'm curious about this George -- does anybody know his children?
