Hello Samuel,

This is interesting. The McCombs I am researching, as far as I can tell you, is with William McCombs, born about 1806, who married Lydia. This Lydia was born in Ireland. They had a son, George, born in 1830. From the records I have seen, William McCombs owned property in Liberty Township in Allegheny County of Pennsylvania. Do you think that the William I am researching and the George you have born in 1804 could have been brothers who went their separate ways? The Lydia who married William was born about 1811, and so far I haven't been able to get a maiden name for her. I believe she was left land in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, by her father. If I could find that will, I would know who her parents were. Sadly, I don't live in Indiana County, and it's a full days drive from where I live in New York State. I can give you more on the children of William and Lydia McCombs, if you are interested. They also had a son, William, who died in the Civil War. I believe he was about the same age as your William. Please feel free to e-mail me direct at Lass53@aol.com
