Thank you for your reply. I'm trying to find Thomas McComb or McCombe born 1811c who married Jane McStephens born 1811c. They had a son James who was born in Maybole, Ayrshire in Scotland 1833c. James married Margaret Connell in Milton of Campsie, Stirling in 1853 and had several children there and in the Calton district of Glasgow. The only thing I can find in the census (1841 Scotland) is that a Jane McComb had a son James in Stirling and she was a widow!! Did James have any siblings? When did Thomas die? Where was he born? Married? Where was Jane born, married and died? Please help with this mystery. I just can't find any direction to go without some help. Thanks.
