I am trying to find information on Tennsessee McComas or McCormas. She was born November 14, 1817 in Lawrence County, Ohio. She married John Shepherd (shephard?) on July 5, 1831 in Putnam County, Illinois, and they then moved to Union, Iowa.
I strongly suspect that she may be the daughter of Stephen McComas of Lawrence County, Ohio, especially if he moved to Illinois. Her last name in a biographic sketch of John Shepherd written in 1883 is listed as "McComas" but the wedding census for their marriage lists it as McCormas, with an "r."
If anyone can help, I would be most appreciative. Mainly, I just want to know if she could be Stephen's daughter.
