Searching for information regarding James' parents. I know he was born in 6 March 1792 in Ohio, married Elizabeth Cowen (often misspelled Cowin) 19 Jun 1814 in Clermont Co, and died 2 Jul 1878 at his son-in-law's (Bethuel Cavolt) home in Warren Coo. He and his wife are buried in the McCollum Cemetery in Clermont, as well as other family memebers. The children I have listed are Thomas, Jane, Margaret, William, John, Charles, Elizabeth, Susannah, James, Oliver, Ellen, Rebecca and Hannah. Only Thomas, Margaret, John and Susannah married and had families.
I have searched all the "usual places." But since there is no Ohio census till 1820 and the Clermont court house burned several times in the 1800s, I think the only way this connection might be made is if someone has information about the family.
