My great grandmother is Julia McCollum. She may be your relative, except the birth dates differ.

Julia was born on 11/9/1850 @ Aurora, IL to George & Lucy (Baldwin) McCollum, who moved to Aurora around 1836, before the city was founded in 1837. George was a blacksmith from Cooperstown, NY. He built Aurora's first police patrol wagon. They were early pioneers of Kane County, IL.

Julia married Albert Gallatin Wilber on 5/18/1874 @ Aurora, IL. In 1873, they moved to Wilber, NE, which was founded that year by Albert's brother, Charles Dana Wilber, a geologist, who charted the course of the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad from Plattsmouth, NE, near the Missouri River, to Lincoln and beyond. In 1886-7 they moved back to Aurora, IL.

There children are:

1. George Albert, b. 11/9/1875 @ Wilber, NE, on Julia's
25th birthday!
2. Anna Rachel, b. 1/26/1878 @ Aurora, IL.
3. Rebecca, b. 7/4/1880 @ Wilber, NE.
4. William, b. 7/4/1880 @ Wilber, NE.
5. Charles McCollum I, b. 1/29/1883 @ Wilber, NE. He
is my grandfather. He begot Lillian McCollum Wilber,
b. 6/9/1914, my mother and geneologist
extraordinaire. Incidentally, my mother was born on
her mother's birthday!
6. Mary Antoinette, b. 9/16/1887 @ Aurora, IL.

Julia died on 1/15/1939 @ Aurora, IL and rests in peace at Spring Lake Cemetary, Aurora, IL, in the Wilber plot.

I hope this information will be of interest and good use to you. My mother left me with a plethora of geneology history of both sides of my family. If you determine that your Julia and mine are one and the same, I may be able to provide you with additional information.

Yours in life,

JBK3rd
