I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your message. I live out of the country and can only get occassional access to the Forum.
I'm not sure if I follow you as to how our lines relate. My sticky Joseph was born in NJ in 1750 and allegedly married Sarah Brown in Sussex Co, NJ in 1776, while serving as a private in the militia from that state. He does have a slight connection with NC, as their son, James Brown McCollough, was born in Lexington, NC in 1788. His father was living and working in VA at the time and had taken the family with him while he was temporarily working in NC as a teamster, having expected to be back in VA before the child was born. Later the family moved on to Georgetown, KY where Joseph died in 1807. James married Margaret Maxwell of KY and moved on to IN, where he, his wife, and his mother, Sarah, are buried.
So how does this connect with your research?
I look forward to hearing from you.
