Deare Tony,
Not all the McColley's went to the USA.Our lot ended up in Australia. We can trace back to when my great grandfather, James Hay McColley, married Rebecca Boyd on the 2nd of Febuary 1876 at the Londonderry Registras Office in Ireland. James and Rebeca had four children that we can find, George, Samuel, Andrew and Alexander.
Samuel(ENG) married Katie Eulalie Cunningham(IRE) and than moved to Australia, where they had four children,Lena(died young),Samuel(my father),Robert and Eulalie.
Samuel married Daphne Hiscock and they had six children,Kenneth(me), Patricia, Maureen, Gary, Christopher and Steven.
Kenneth married Patricia Smith and had four chidren, Sean, Gwanita, Aaron and Mathew and we alllive in New South Wales Austrlia.
My son, Sean is geting married and he would like to use the tartan of the McColley ancestors at his wedding, if anybody knows of any tartan I would appreciate the information.
And one day I am planning to travel to England and Ireland to look up any of the places that my ancestors may have passed through and just enjoy your beutifull country.
Regards from the McColley family down under
(if ever you are in Aussie, there will be a bed for you)
